I have used this effect many thousands of times on stage, close up and TV - for both children and adults and it has always been a huge hit
At one time a professional magician offered me $50 for the secret and even though I performed it in front of him several times he still could not pick up the secret
Effect
You have two pieces of soft magicians rope the same size
You get someone up to assist you and they choose one of the ropes
You tell them that you are going to tie a knot in the middle of the rope without letting go of the ends and you will go very slowly so they can follow you
You go through various motions and they follow your every move, when you pull the ends of your rope there is a large knot in the middle
Your helper does the same and they don't have a knot
This is where plenty of comedy is thrown in and you again repeat the trick right in front of their face
Every time there is a knot in your rope but nothing in there's
You even change ropes with them but the outcome is the same
A great trick that you can perform many times to the same audience without them finding out the secret
Look at that again
No special faked rope used
You tell the audience that at no time will you let go of the ends of the rope
You can perform this many times in front of the same person and they will never find out the secret if done correctly
